English follows Japanese.

Hiking Map Book

We have finished distributing the free Ministry of the Environment trail maps as of March 31st, 2021. From now on, you can purchase the Michinoku Coastal Trail Hiking Map Books. See this page for details on the Hiking Map Books and why this change has happened.
Our online shop is open as of April 1st, so you can now order the Hiking Map Books online.

You can also use the following data to supplement the Hiking Map Books.
① Trail map PDF data from the Ministry of the Environment
The Ministry of the Environment paper maps were A1 size (584mm x 841 mm, or 23.4 x 33.1 inches), so if you use a home printer to print these maps in a smaller size they will be too small to check the trail route in enough detail. However, the maps do have information about places along the trail, so you can use them as a reference for planning.

English PDFs http://tohoku.env.go.jp/mct/english/

② Online map and GPX data
You can check the trail route on our Google Map and you can also download GPS data (a GPX file) for the entire route. The GPX data shows the route itself, but it doesn’t include a lot of important safety information including slip hazards, high water, so please use it to check where you are on the course.

Please use these two resources to supplement the Hiking Map Books, which should act as your main reference for planning your hike.
